SnappyWare was founded to develop consumer oriented software applications for
sale as ShareWare. The addition of development tools followed shortly due to our
strong skills and large quantity of reusable code we already have in this area.
Consumer Products
We currently have several consumer products in various stages of development.
It is our goal to finalize and bring to market these projects in 2005. The exact
timeline is dependant upon many factors.
Developer Products
As professional developers we write a lot of code. Due to our design methodology
much of the code we have written in the past is highly reusable. In particular
we have a huge variety of non-visual library code. We are currently reviewing
our code archive to determine which libraries are suitable and desirable to be
productized. This could take awhile as we have a mountain of code available, but
we know for certain there are many gems in there.
Borland Delphi
Our primary tool of choice is Borland Delphi. We have extensive experience going back to version 1 and most of our current development projects are completed using Delphi 7. Most of our archived components and libraries were written in Delphi which makes many of them suitable for use in Delphi, Kylix and C++ Builder.
Microsoft.NET
The future is bright for Microsoft .NET and we intend to fully support it in the future. The great news is that thanks of Delphi 2005 much of our experience and a lot of our archived code is portable to .NET! Look for good things to come in late 2005.
Game Development
Our team developed a commercial grade game engine a couple of years ago for a startup company. Unfortunately the company was unable to sell their game concept to distributors, but our prototype engine worked. It is an object-oriented engine designed to facilitate advanced game design concepts. We still have interest in productizing this.
